Missing Mum

In September 2010 we lost Mum to cancer. It was the hardest moment of my life and I will never forget the last moments with Mum.

Mum was diagnosed with uterus cancer in 2009, it took her from our lives in less than 2 years. After a radical hysterectimy in August 2009, Mum was recovering well. It was in early 2010 that she was then diagnosed with a cancer tumor that was in her pelvis, attached to her bowel, it was inoperable.

Unfortunatly Mum was in an unmanageable amount of pain daily, and required constant help and assistance and was unable to continue working. As Mum was single the responsibility of helping Mum fell on my sisters and I, which of course we wouldnt have had any other way.
My older and younger sisters were amazing during this time, they showed what amazing, strong and caring women they are, much like our Mum. During this time I was pregant with my second son Brody, it was a strange time, growing a new life and going through an amazing process of becoming a mother again, but also dealing with the fact I was going to lose my own mother.

Brody was born in August, just 3 weeks before Mum passed away. For that short period of time, we had something to celebrate and something to make us all smile. It reminded me that there are still beautiful things in life.

Although I am sad that Mum isnt here to cuddle Brody, to watch him giggle, missing his firsts, I am always so grateful that she got to meet him, she was able to cuddle and kiss him for a few short weeks. And I know she is always near by, guiding both Tyler and Brody on their journey through life.
