Motherhood

What is the hardest, most rewarding, yet lowest paid job in the world....

Being a mother!

Thats right, firstly; we endure years of hormonal changes, menstrual cycles, cramps and mood swings.
Then we have the responsibility of growing these tiny, vunerable humans inside our bodies for almost 10 months.
And then we have to actually endure birth! And thats not even the hard part!

Next comes sleepless nights, dirty nappies, washing, screaming, tiredness, anxiety and everything in between!

Lucky they are so darn cute!!

My first son, Tyler Day, was born on 2 December 2005. I was just 19 when I had Tyler, but I would not change being a young mother for anything (more in this in another post).

Labour was amazing. It was textbook. My waters broke in the morning, then my contractions started - the contractions werent too bad, I had done a hypno birth class which helped - within 6 hours, Tyler was born, drug free!

Brody Will joined our family on 21 August 2010 after 6 hours of labour - must be a trend - although this time things werent as smooth.

My waters didnt break, and the midwife didnt break them until I was 10 cms dialted - this caused excruciating pain, although I managed to endure it with gas only.

We hope to add a 3rd baby to our family in a year or so. And no, we are not *hoping* for a girl. We are *hoping* for a healthy baby!
